Innovation at Vardhaman College of Engineering is woven into academic learning, community engagement, research, and entrepreneurship. Vardhaman’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Wing (V-IEW) drives this through the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Community Innovation & Transformation (CIT) wing’s EPICS framework, which encourages students to identify real-world problems and engineer practical technological solutions.
Over successive academic years, this ecosystem has produced measurable outcomes in research, patents, design thinking, prototyping, and hackathon performance — reflecting a campus-wide culture where innovation is treated as a structured, year-round discipline rather than an occasional activity.
These outcomes are underpinned by JNTUH-recognized research centers on campus, which provide the infrastructure and faculty mentorship behind sustained patent filings and Scopus-indexed publications.The IIC anchors the campus innovation calendar, running structured programs across Calendar Activities, Celebrations, Self-Driven initiatives, and MIC-driven programs every quarter, year after year.Among IIC 7.0’s MIC-driven initiatives: Viksit Bharat@2047, the IIC Regional Meet, the Guiding Framework for Innovation Ambassadors, ATL/AIC linkage-building with schools, and the orientation-cum-refresher sessions on IIC objectives and operations for affiliated institutions.
The Centre feeds its Innovation Repository into YUKTI, the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell platform that tracks ideas, innovations, and startups across IIC institutions nationally.
The CIT wing channels student innovation toward real societal needs through the EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) framework, ensuring that technology solutions developed on campus are grounded in genuine community problems rather than purely academic exercises.
